Michael Fullan

​As I am now a member of the key leadership team - I will be taking on a principal position from August, whilst maintaining my PYP coordinator position. I am very excited and looking forward to the challenges.

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a conference given by Michael Fullan regarding enabling change within a school. The added bonus to this is that as a school we are in the process of incorporating major change within the school. We are introducing teaching standards, a first for my current school.  We have spent time, about 9 months laying the ground work and we are collaborating across the leadership team, principals and coordinators to establish a positive environment around teacher professional development and teacher standards. In addition, we are collaborating with Professor Gerard Calnin from Melbourne University and the progress forward for our schools' professionals is exciting.

Developing teacher professional learning communities will begin on a voluntary basis and we will use the power of the group to build the team (Fullan 2017).
